Dear Ian, Di, Garth and all at CAESSR,

We can't believe that it is now almost a year since we drove up to Stoke from Kent to meet Honey. She was quite nervous, slightly bedraggled with very long hair and soon began to display her 'dominance' issues. She was very quick to try to wrap us around her little paw, but we stood firm and stuck to our training regime. With further advice from other CAESSR owners, and a local dog behaviour expert, we made steady progress.

She no longer guards her food bowl, sits before she goes through the door or a gate, and waits for us to go through first, we have even managed to get her to relax in her bed, and to not growl when we walk past. A total transformation from when we first met her.

She has now had a number of haircuts too and is getting very used to grooming, which is good since she loves nothing more than running through the woods, and rolling in the grass, and anything else that happens to be in the local fields. It was lovely to see her on the CAESSR calendar and we have enclosed some more photos of her enjoying herself. Thank you so much for allowing us to take Honey on, and for all the work that you do to re-home dogs in need.

Best wishes

Lisa & Jerry (06-02-12)

Dear Ian, Di & All at Caessr

As I have now been in my forever home for exactly a year to the day I thought I'd let you know how I'm doing even though my new mum & dad have sent a few updates in between! I'm a very spoilt little chap and I love my adopted sister Lizzie loads! I particularly love pouncing on her to play and we bowl each other over and chase round and round in the garden and on the park behind our house!

I'm a real soft soul and very sensitive but my mum & dad get this about me and even my sister sticks up for me on the fields if another dog gets a little too boistrous or scary. I have lots of friends though and love playing chase with three other dogs who look just like me! I still have my signature big white spot on top of my head and even my "hairdresser" who comes every six weeks to trim my sister and I thinks I'm very cute - there again who could blame her!

I've loved the snow this weekend as I've not seen any of that before so I was charging round the park this morning chasing Lizzie and some of my friends - great fun! I get taken on loads of round walks in the Peak District which, as I'm a little mischevious and there's lots of livestock, I can't go off the lead out there but my mum plans loads of long walks and we can often be walking for hours but she always remembers to pack my sister and I some biscuits and water for our "half way round" break. There's nothing we like better than to come home and chill out then and unwind, all that walking and fresh air can be tiring! My sister and I love our caravan holidays and we've already got 2 planned! I have loads of great adventures with my new family and I have to confess I'm very spoilt but hey what the heck! I have loads of places in my home that I love to relax, one of my favourite being in the conservatory but my mum won't let me stay in there when its hot because she says its "too warm for little dogs". Perhaps she's right but I love finding other places of comfort like one of the spare bedrooms but my favourite is on the windowsill in the lounge where I can jump on the sofa, up the back of it and lay on the ledge watching the world go by!

I have sent you some photos to see how at home I've made myself - these forever homes are great and with a cute face you can wrap these new parents into the palm of your paw!!

Keep up the fantastic work at Caessr and thank you for all you did for me and all these other deserving dogs.

Love

Harvey - oh and my sister Lizzie and my Mum & Dad xx (05-02-12)
