These terms apply to the CAESSR Christmas hamper raffle, which has three hampers to win. By buying a ticket you agree to them. Please read them together with our website terms and privacy policy. Our separate Bugalugs grooming hamper raffle has its own terms.
The raffle
The raffle is promoted by Cocker And English Springer Spaniel Rescue (CAESSR), registered charity 1137589, of Wembley, Englesea Brook Lane, Englesea Brook, Crewe CW2 5QW, as a small society lottery under the Gambling Act 2005, registered with our local licensing authority. Every penny raised, after the cost of running the raffle, goes towards kennelling, vet bills and transport for the spaniels in our care.
Who can enter
You must be aged 16 or over and in Great Britain (England, Scotland or Wales) when you buy your ticket. We may ask a winner for proof of age before handing over a prize. Tickets bought by anyone under 16 are void and will be refunded. Anyone involved in organising or making the draw may not enter.
Tickets and payment
Tickets cost £5 each or £10 for a pack of three, and there is no limit on how many you may buy. Each ticket is one entry in the draw, so a pack of three is three entries. Your order confirmation is your ticket: it shows the tickets you hold, and your order number is your reference, so please keep it. An entry counts only once we have received payment in full. If you pay by bank transfer, the money must reach us before the raffle closes; orders that are unpaid at the close, or placed after it, do not enter the draw and any payment received is refunded.
Closing date and the draw
The raffle closes at 11.59 pm on Saturday 19 December 2026. The draw takes place, and the winners are announced, on Sunday 20 December 2026. Three winning tickets are chosen at random from all valid entries, each ticket having an equal chance, using an independent random draw tool, and the draw is witnessed by a trustee of the charity. The first ticket drawn wins the Star Prize, the second wins Prize 2 and the third wins Prize 3. Each ticket can win only one prize, but someone holding more than one ticket can win more than one prize.
The prizes
There are three prizes, each a hamper of dog toys, treats and accessories as described on the ticket page: the Star Prize, with a retail value of over £150, and Prizes 2 and 3, each with a retail value of around £80. There is no cash alternative. If any item becomes unavailable we may replace it with one of equal or greater value. Food items carry the manufacturer’s best-before date. Each prize will be delivered free of charge to an address in the UK, or can be collected by arrangement.
Contacting the winners
We will contact each winner by email or phone within five days of the draw, using the details given on their order, so please make sure they are correct. If we cannot reach a winner, or hear nothing back within 14 days of our first message, we will draw another winner for that prize from the remaining valid entries. We may announce the winners’ first names and towns on our website and social media unless they ask us not to.
Refunds and cancellation
Ticket purchases are final. The 14-day right to cancel that applies to most online purchases does not apply to lottery tickets. We refund tickets only where an order is not valid under these terms (for example under-age, late or unpaid at the close) or if we have to cancel the raffle, in which case every ticket is refunded in full.
Fair play
We may refuse or void any entry that we reasonably believe breaks these terms. Our decision on any matter to do with the raffle is final. If you have a complaint, email us at the address below and we will do our best to put things right.
Your information
We use the details on your order to run the raffle, to contact you if you win and to deliver your prize, and we keep the records of ticket sales for as long as the law requires. Everything else about how we look after your information is in our privacy policy.
