Hi Ian.

Some more news about Fraser, formally Oscar.

Lottie arrived as a rescue dog from Spain about a month after we rescued Fraser and they have both settled in and get on well together.

We have just returned from a holiday at Craig-y-Nos with Fraser and Lottie. We were staying in a dog friendly Castle in Wales and the they both had a wonderful time. Fraser now has good recall and the only time he is on the lead is when near the road or livestock. He has caught a couple of rabbits but otherwise the local wildlife generally escapes his attention. He has also started some agility classes and enjoys it very much, so far the only feature he hasn’t tried is the weaving but he loves the challenge of the jumps and tunnel and especially the treat at the end.

He had proved to be an excellent dog with people and other dogs, he loves to be fussed by young children and as you can see in the pictures he enjoys running and playing with other dogs.

When he is out he likes to explore all around and never seems to stop, at home he settles down readily and stretches out on the settee or nearest lap available. He is a great companion and a lovely dog, we hope to have many years of his company.

Best wishes

Lawrence & Claire

Dear Ian,

We thought we would update you on how Jimmy and Louie (was Choo) are getting along, and hope that the previous owners will see this on your website.

They have settled in really well and enjoy their daily routine, we are out walking for between two and four hours a day, which us good for them and for us. They are not left very long on their own as we are both retired.

We have taken them on three holidays so far and we are due to go away again in June to a country cottage in Wiltshire. We have attached photographs of them out and about around where we live and in the Peak District, as you can see there are used to climbing over ‘step stiles’ and can climb on to a fallen tree in our local word, which we call the posing log, it's amazing what they'll do for a biscuit.

Thank you for letting us have them they are great fun to own and we wouldn't be without them!

Kindest regards,

Helen and John

Hi Di.

Here is a picture of Tilly (was Betty). She is wonderful and has settled in so well with Oscar. She is eating very well and is sleeping well too.

She has been on 3 walks both yesterday and today and she loves running with Oscar off the lead. She tries to chase the birds !

She is very happy and we are thrilled with her.

Best

Caroline

Hi Di & Ian

Just to let you know how Rory is doing. He had his neutering op on Friday so we are restricted to garden for exercise until we get the all clear from the vet today (Monday). He took the op very well and does not seem to be affected at all.

Rory is doing well and getting used to me now, we have the start of a routine and he seems happy. Still a bit anxious whenever he is left but getting better. I do not leave him for long but feel I need to do it in short periods every day and at differing times so he learns to trust me coming back!

He will now fetch a ball and drop it for me and is learning to walk fairly well on the lead. We started going to puppy classes last week, not sure who was more traumatised me or Rory! It was quite an experience, but we will keep going. Rory still gets very excited when meeting new people and dogs but he is slowly learning to calm down and the classes will help both of us I am sure.

He still loves the wood burner being lit in the evening and commandeers the hearth, which is fine.

We have met some lovely fellow cocker owners on our walks including one called Fluke who is a rescue spaniel aged two. Fluke is a delight but more placid than Rory, I do like it that Rory is a lively lad. We are great mates already!

Will send some more pictures shortly.

Kind regards

Jane and Rory

Hi John,

It is now eighteen months since May, a lovely chocolate working cocker spaniel, came to live with us.

During that time she has been an adorable addition to our family and has been on holiday and visited relatives with us in all parts of the country each time without any problem what so ever. Our three year old granddaughters adore both May and Diesel (our black labrador) and May certainly gives every indication that she has been brought up with children since she takes it upon herself to join in with their games and cuddles up at every opportunity. In fact, the only thing we find difficult to understand is how she was ever a working dog!!! Cold weather, rain, and wind are certainly not when May ventures outside!!!

May's previous owner must have been devastated to give up such a loving and well adjusted dog, but she's very happy and contented in her 'retirement' home with her very best friend, Diesel.

Thank you to all at CAESSR for the magnificent work you do and for matching up so well the needs of the dogs in your care with their new homes.

Kind regards

Lin

PS The attached image was taken a few weeks ago - since then May has been clipped and looks so much smarter - though in do think she looks cute I her 'teddy bear' coat.

Hello Di,

We thought you might like to know that Banjo (was Gizmo) is settling in well here in Dorset and from the attached photograph you will see that he is totally relaxed and bonding well.

He has been off the lead a couple of times but his recall is a bit spasmodic and we do have a lot of pheasants in the local woods. So training is the current priority.

He is greatly admired by owners of other working Cockers and the people who shoot locally.

Thank you so much for this lovely little chap.

Regards,

Rob and Jackie

Hello Ian and Di

Just wanted to give you a little update on the boy. He is settling down well and has been on lots of adventures in his first week. Tried out the beach, met ponies and sheep (both OK), and also lots of chickens. Don't think Rory has quite grasped the concept of free range and thinks they all want to play. He is a big hit in the village and has his own fan club! He is meeting lots of different dogs and learning that they do not all want to play. We have also introduced him to the local pub!

He had an upset tummy but a little better now. I am very grateful to his original owners for allowing me the chance to look after their treasure. He has had a good grounding from them and I promise to continue the good work. He is a fine little chap.

He loves the country walks here and best of all my wood burner! He helps to make the fire up, I put paper and wood in he takes it out!

Rory sneaked onto the comfy chair in the sun lounge. Against the rules but he looked so at home.

Will send again.

Much love

Jane and Rory

Morning Di

Took Tilly to my vet last night to have final injections and get her checked over. Were you aware that Tilly had had her ear canal removed in her right ear so she is deaf in that ear.

Despite all this she knows where the food is kept and loves to play with her toys. But vet is happy with her and she is doing well with us and the company.

Booked in for a trim a week on Thursday so will submit some photo’s after that.

Regards

Alan
