Hi John and Di,

Could you kindly pass on our heart felt thanks to Veronica for her assistance with Qhuinn.

Qhuinn has a fear for vets and 3 times I tried to get him to have his annual booster, however 3 times they refused to inject him.

Thats where Veronica came to our rescue, she insisted she would call and personally take Qhuinn to the vets and ensure his booster was done. She was as good as her word and duly took Qhuinn and easily managed to calm him without a Muzzle! His booster was completed to my utter amazement and relief of course.

Veronica is a great ambassador to Caessr and has helped us enormously.

Kind Regards

Noel & Bernie and Qhuinn

Hi Di and John,

Just thought I’d drop a note to say how we’re getting on. So far so good. Winston’s getting used to his new surroundings and settling in well. We’re having lots of walks at home to get him used to life here, he has bags of energy. We don’t let him off the lead yet as I’m not fully confident he recalls if he gets onto something but it’s very early days for this yet.

He’s completely food orientated so gets lots of treats to get him to sit, stay etc. We’re keeping to the same routine Sara started with him making him wait at doors, gates etc. We have him trained to wait for his food and he’s slowing down his eating now and not wolfing it down. He tends to chew soft things socks, gloves, his blankets etc but ignores shoes and the like - so far! He likes chewy goats ears and likes to bury them in the garden.

He’s very bright, almost too bright, I get the impression he’s thinking two steps ahead of me all the time. He picks things up very quickly but is quite stubborn to do things time and again. He enjoys a groom as he also enjoys finding all the muddy puddles on a walk.

He’s a little steadier after a week but still has an insatiable lust for life which both Amanda and I like. I’d say he lives at 99mph now. He sleeps through the night okay, some noise at the start of the week but better now. We’re building his routine which he is getting used to.

Today we had a nice walk near us called the three churches starting from a village called Moulton which is near Newmarket. At the end, we met a lady with her spaniel, Lesley and Billy, who knows you all at CAESSR. We had a nice long chat but what a coincidence, she had seen Winston on the website and couldn’t believe it when we told her it was him.

I’ve attached some photos for you to see how he is. By all means drop me a line if you want to know anything else but I’ll drop another update next weekend. I received the chip registration from Ian also so many thanks for that.

Kind regards
Andrew & Amanda

Dear Di,

When we got in touch with you about adopting a spaniel we had chosen a dog we thought might suit us. After our talk on the phone, you suggested another one who might suit us better - a smaller spaniel. And how right you were! From the moment Maisie ran into the house there has been not a moment's doubt that she is the one for us.

We gave her non-stop T.L.C. from the word go, and she has blossomed in every way. She is sociable with the dog walking fraternity and confident with other dogs. We let her off the lead and she runs freely on our daily walk, while never letting us out of her sight. She comes immediately if we call her. She is a delight. So thank you for suggesting Maisie. We could not have chosen a better dog. Quite a few people have asked us where we got her and have remarked what a good work you do at CAESSR. Someone called her the other day 'Happiness on four legs' and so she is!

With kind regards,

Joan and Tony

Hi there,

I thought you would like to see a photo of Cooper. We adopted a Border Collie at the same time and they are having great fun together. Rowan is shy, but Cooper is giving him courage and Rowan is teaching Cooper that it's not OK to bite. He has been biting us, but usually because he is over excited; there is no aggression. We have signed up for classes, which we are sure he will enjoy. His love of life is inspiring and helps us forgive the kitchen raids. Two eggs, three (human) biscuits, a new bag of treats and a courgette yesterday. We find things in the most surprising places! Things we thought were well out of reach. Now he can vault the (extra tall) stairgate...

We think of his former owner often, and are sure they miss each other.

Kind regards

Diane
