Hi folks- it's me Barney
As I have just recently been to the beauty parlour it seems good time to send you some photos, a sort of hair today and gone tomorrow!
Things are great. I'm as fit as a fiddle - about ten pounds lighter - and turbo-charged. I've worn out so many balls himself has had to buy me another tube of tennis balls.
I caught a mole last week in the park but I wasn't allowed to eat it. I nearly had a rabbit this morning but it escaped through the wire and went in with the deer.

Himself has asked me to apologise - he doesn't look in his junk box very often and he came across an email from you back in December. How it got in there he does not know.
Hope you like the pics.
Licks to all my friends

Dear Di ,
It was so nice on returning from holiday to see the post and pictures of Holly /Leia settling in her new home. It was a very hard decision for us to make and we nearly chickened out at the last moment. During our holiday she was on our minds hoping she would settle and she has.
Holly / Leia will always remain in our hearts the bit she has stolen but we knew it was for the best. Thank you to her new family for rehoming Holly and hope they enjoy her. She is a special dog and deserves the best .
Thank you once again Di for and your organisation for being there. We would never have taken Holly to a dogs home so thank goodness for CAESSR.

Hi caessr
It's been 2 months since we welcomed Alfie into our lives and we now couldn't imagine life without him. He has settled in so well and gets on like a house on fire with our springer Zac. They are proper boys who love a good play fight. He also loves a cuddle on the sofa though.
He was a bit on the chunky side when we had him but he's since lost 3.5kg and looks much better for it.

Hi Ian,
It's exactly a year since we adopted Riley (you knew him as Milo) and I thought I'd drop you a quick note to say how delighted we have been with him.
He is a chocolate working cocker and will be four in a day's time.
Initially it was a bit of a shock when, on a sunny day, he started barking at shadows:now he just chases them!
He's a great dog - very affectionate, great fun to take out and very popular with all the local dog-lovers.
I'm pleased to see from the website that you have a queue of people waiting to adopt. I'm not surprised: spaniels make wonderful pets.
Best wishes,
Dave
Hi Ian and Di,
Just a quick update - we've had Jimbob over 3 months now and it's as if he's always been here. He's certainly found his feet and seems to be really happy.
He recently had a trip to the vets to have an xray because he appeared to have an extremely enlarged prostate which didn't respond to medication. It was decided that 'the snip' would be the best option to prevent further enlargement and to reduce the size. He also had a non-invasive biopsy and I'm pleased to say that there is no evidence of anything nasty.

I was a little concerned about him having all of this at his age but needn't have worried, he was back to his happy self the very next day and has recovered well.
Here are a couple of pictures of my lovely boy with his toy, and with his new sister Rosie May on one of our caravan weekends.
Best wishes,
Shirley
Dear Di, Ian and John,
Thought for a while myself to give you another update. Please find enclosed some photographs of Millie.
Millie has settled very well and does enjoy her walks in the country side. She can be a little tinker sometimes and you can’t take your eyes of her but she also makes me laugh. She can be a little clown at times.
She is still very nervous around strange dogs coming quickly towards her but otherwise she has improved a lot. We regularly walk with one other dog and every so often with a third one in a little pack. She does not play with them, more being around and doing her own thing. There are also some other dogs she is alright to say hello to. We found that she is the happiest when she can play in the field with her ball and doing her training without any other dog.

Life is very serious for Millie at times and she does want to “work”. So we find all sorts to do on our walks involving her ball and all the usual things like recall training and sit, stay etc. otherwise she is off looking for pheasants. She is not a dog you can simply take along for a walk while chatting to people. She does need structure. Not a real surprise with being a working spaniel.
She is a very loving and affectionate little dog and absolutely brilliant around the house. She is also very obedient and wants to please. We are all rather fond of her and quite happy to have her. I realised that the calmer I am and the more confident I become in handling her, the better Millie responds.
She has spent 2 weeks over Easter in kennels with no problems. We were told that she settled well after she got to know everybody. It does help that Millie is very fond of humans. So all in all Millie is doing quite well and she is such a funny little character. We had a one to one session with a trainer and I am far more relaxed knowing, that a lot of Millie’s behaviour has to do with her breed and something happening in her past not her personality. Working Spaniels are not the easiest to handle and need time and commitment as well as patience. But at least Millie is paying us back with her love and devotion and like I mentioned earlier her main aim is to please.
Disobedience is often accidental or because of the great excitement to be out and about. For me at least she is a very special little dog for others she might be a handful.
Hope all is well with all of you and CAESSR and that the previous owner is reassured that Millie is doing well. I hope she does not worry about her.
All the best
Monika, Steve and Millie
Dear John

I just wanted to drop you an email to tell you how wonderful a companion Mackie has been to me over the past (almost) 3 years. He goes everywhere I go, including to work, and has travelled many thousands of miles with me as I travel the country.
I am currently on long term sickness leave and he remains a faithful friend and is helping my recovery by getting me out walking every day. He is healthy and often mistaken for a 'puppy' by those who see him and how full of life he is.
I have attached a few photos for you to see, just to say thank you for selecting such a perfect companion for me
Kind regards
Barbara
Hello Di, John/Alf,

Please see attached photos.
The first picture taken was after a couple of good walks and an hours play in the garden.
The second picture was taken today after a couple of good rainy day walks but followed by a shower/bath -which Leia (was Holly) enjoyed very much.
Leia has quickly found a place in all our hearts and I know she loves us very much - she is most definitely home for good with her family.
Thank you all for your patience with us - I guess we were just waiting for the perfect dog for us.

Hi all at CAESSR,
Grommit is settling in well to life with our family. He's quickly learnt our routines and is really enjoying walks in the surrounding countryside.
Grommit loves playing with a ball and we make sure we always have one in our pocket on walks. We took him to the nature reserve yesterday morning and he was so excited (his tail was almost a blur because it was wagging so hard). He had a great time exploring all the undergrowth, there was so much to sniff and this morning we are going to walk the disused railway line between the river and the canal.
Thanks so much
Sian
Hi John,

Just to let you know that Eddie continues to thrive, he has just gained the Kennel Club Silver Award at Dog Class. We are very proud of him! He is very much an ' outdoor dog', happiest when playing ball in the garden or on long walks through the woods. He has regular trips to the Highlands of Scotland as we have family there. His other favourite place is the beach at Crosby, only a few miles away, he loves to run and run. He has boundless energy and he is keeping us both very fit!
Best wishes to all at Caessr,
Kind regards,
Grainne
