Dear John, and all at CAESSR,

It's now four years since we met and adopted Meg (who came to you as Pepper), so we thought we'd send an update. She's now nearly 8, but seems no older than when she came to us, and certainly no wiser. She's recently had a course of hydrotherapy to address recurrent shoulder-based lameness, and it seems to have done the trick as she's now been sound since January.

We love her to bits, and are so glad you told us about her. She's a great dog, happy to walk all day, but also quite content snoozing around the house, usually snoring. She is also a great Vicarage dog, and has become a kind of parish mascot - she's 'cured' 3 people who were genuinely scared of dogs, just by being gentle and holding paws with them. She has completely worked her way into our hearts, and we are so grateful.

With our thanks (we are sending an anniversary gift),

Tony, Catherine, and Meg.

Hi Di…Its Debbe,

I thought I’d give you an update on how Sammy is doing. We adopted Sammy on 15th June 2015. She has settled in very well. She’s allowing us to put the lead on her, so we can take her for walks. She’s enjoying my other springer (Elsa) company. She has met loads of other dogs on her walks and seems very relaxed with them.

I’ve enclosed a few photos of her enjoying her new forever home…..could you please let Anne at Beech Boarding Kennels know how Sammy is doing. If Anne has an email address would it be possible for you to send it to me and I can keep her up to date with Sammy progress.

Thank you

Debbe

Hello Diane,

Do you remember Biggy??

It's a year this coming Friday since we were lucky enough to bring our beautiful Buddy Boy home with us.

He settled right in with his new roomy, our gorgeous golden cocker Lucie. He even turned out to be as football crazy as the rest of the family. Loving to get outside and chase the ball when our sons are playing. He's also broken the 'not on the sofa' rule and loves to cuddle up as much on your lap as he can get.

Unfortunately this week his friend Lucie had to go to sleep. We are devastated by the loss of our special girl who we'd had from a pup over 13 years a go. At least with Buddy around you can't help but smile at his big furry face. He is a sweetheart.

Thank you for letting him come home with us and for everything you do for these dogs. I'm sure we will be in touch to offer a home to another doggy once our loss isn't as raw.

Meanwhile here are a couple of photos for you.

All the best,

Marie

Dear All at CAESSR,

Thank you so much for our delightful Dito, who has settled really well and is enjoying his new home. I have attached some photos of week one as Di suggested.

The first is Dito redistributing shoes/slippers as all Springers seem to. The second is him playing in our garden with one of his many new toys (some destroyed within seconds; others a tad more hardy). The third is my favourite - Dito's first walk introducing him to the meadow and number four is the result - a tired and happy dog! Five is Dito declining to join in a rainy BBQ - despite a dog sausage on the Barbie and the final one is him in his new basket.

He is obviously a dog who has been well loved and well treated; he is very trusting, friendly and cheerful. He decided that his new basket or the alternative - a spot on the half landing where our old dog used to sleep - were not to his choosing for night time, so he sleeps under the bed and (apart from his first night where he decided we needed a party at 3am) he has been really well behaved.

Lots to do in terms of getting him to come back when off the lead, but he is now not too bad on a five metre stretchy lead and does generally come when called if he's not distracted by rabbits, ducks, cormorants etc etc!

Many thanks to all of you for the great work you do,

Kind regards,

Sara and Jon

Hi Di, Ian and all at CAESSR

Well it’s been 6 months now so I thought I owed you an update. During this time with my new masters, Bob and Helen, I have been to the beaches of East Sussex; North Wales; the Forests of Snowdonia; a posh Hotel in 100 acres and showed off my instinct skills with the grouse and pheasants.. Helen was most impressed.

I’m currently in Menorca for 7 weeks, and guess what, I go to the sea EVERY day @ 7am..how good is that! Bob’s not too amused, nor at the state of his car. We brought sacks loads of food with us but have to say the fresh Sardines are to die for.. yummy! Bob reckons he walks 2 miles per day, has lost 22 lbs in weight, and that I must RUN 6 miles per day and put on 4 lbs [but still slim and trim] well, Springer’s don’t walk anywhere, do they?

More mundane matters. Well, my new masters are taking to their new lifestyle and ownership well, gradually coming round to my way of thinking. I now have my bed in the best position in the bedroom, and 2nd best seat on the sofa, so we are getting there. Joking apart they are very kind, considerate and loving and take me everywhere. Thank you for such a good match, I am well settled here and enjoying every minute.

With all my best woofs..

Sasha

Hello

Just on my way to the pool for a swim. I'm full of energy and fun; lucky that my owners are keen on walking and playing. I'm easily bored but can usually get attention from the humans by stealing some shoes.

I love chasing birds but I do like the hens. Just sitting in the hen run watching them is quite relaxing.

I climbed a few mountains in the Lake District at the weekend.

Mum is persevering with lead training but I'm still quite excitable and pull her at times. I also get excited with visitors and afraid to admit but I have a lite wee on their feet. Any ideas in how I can grow out if this are welcome!

(I had 'the little op' a while ago).

Love

Ted
