Hi to all our friends at CAESSR!
We just thought that we would show you what we have been up to these last couple of days.
Trooper (previously Henry) has settled in amazingly - on his first night he was tucked up in bed with me, Lyla and Tallulah the cat! He is an absolute delight, he has the most loving and willing temperament and is desperate to please. I have to say though, Lyla is doing a lot of the groundwork for me! She has taken him under her wing and is constantly keeps an eye on him, telling him off when he is getting into something he shouldn't. She is also teaching him manners and what is acceptable behaviour. And in return he adores her. He is being exceptionally well behaved with Tallulah, and even if he does decide he wants to dash after her, he stops when she turns around and says "enough now", which is excellent for a young pup. This morning he looked so disappointed that she didn't want to play tuggie rope with him!
He is very quick to learn and although he has a cheeky streak, his willingness to please always wins through. His favourite toys are tuggie ropes and he will parade around the house carrying one for ages, so proud of himself! He is very good at sharing toys and chews and he and Lyla are happy to eat and drink alongside each other. He is loving getting out and about, doing really well on the lead, walking nicely and sitting and waiting when told (like when we are on a walk and we stop to chat). He is enjoying meeting new people and other dogs. And when I let Lyla off the lead, he then goes on a flexi lead so he can join in the fun - and water!! I think they are both looking forward to when he can go off lead and play properly!
His toileting has been exemplary. We have not had a single accident in the house since he has arrived. The patio door is always open and whatever he is doing, if he needs to "go" he will always trot off happily outside. What is really impressive is he has learned to pee on command which is really useful before bedtime.
Thank you so much CAESSR for giving me the opportunity to have the incredible Lyla in my life and then this little bundle of a whirlwind, Trooper.
Would you please pass my thanks on to Mandy at the kennels. Her patience and support is so much appreciated.
We will update you again soon :)
Sending love, hugs and woofs,
Clair, Lyla and Trooper xx
