Hello

We thought you might like to see little Smudge in his birthday prezzie.... A new pool for our gorgeous boy, keeping him cool in the sunshine!

We picked Smudge up from you in November and we love every inch of him.

Thank you

Hi John,

Arrow has been with me just short of a week and has settled in really well. Now walking off lead and after one night (the Saturday I picked him up) unhappiness at being left in the kitchen, is now very good. I have left him for 2 hours without any problems. He is a wonderful dog who is full of personality and it is hard to believe that he is 8!

I attach a photo of him taken this week.

Regards,

Paul.

Hi Ian,

Having spoken to Dianne recently, I thought I'd send you a few photos of Finn, who came to live with us on 27th June 2014, having been rescued by yourselves.

He is absolutely fantastic and has settled in like he's been here all of his life. The children love him so much and he obviously loves them too. He has become a wonderful part of our family and we are so grateful to your organisation for contacting us and allowing us to have him. He is a really lovely dog and we are so lucky to have him.

I would be grateful if you could pass on our thanks to his previous owner and let him know that Finn is really happy and content living with us. He has a great life and has 2 walks every day and goes swimming in the lake behind our house on every walk!!!

Once again, thank you for what you do and have done and continue to do.

Regards and best wishes,

Emma and family (27-07-2014)

Hi John,

Here are some photos of Bob settling in well since I brought him home yesterday. He has settled in really well and no accidents in the house so far.

We took him to the farm today where he met the farm dogs and he loved it and came back on the whistle. We are really happy with him.

He is going to the vets this week to register him, get a check up, sign him up for a vet plan and get his kennel cough.

One of the photos is of him sat outside the pheasant chick pen waiting for me like a good boy. As i am writing this he is currently asleep under my feet on the carpet.

Warm Regards

Karen

Hi,

Its been 3 years since we adopted Archie and it seems like he's been with us for ever.

We love him to bits he is a darling and a gentleman. He loves us both but goes everywhere with me and can be seen on Skype when I'm talking to my cousins in Australia he loves it. He escorts me everywhere walks me upstairs and down and seems to want to do whatever I am doing.

I finally managed to get some decent photo's of him (unlike my first springer he is very camera shy. ) Maybe one is good enough for the calendar.

Regards

Hello John and Di

Where has the time gone? 9 months ago I arrived at CAESSR in the pouring rain to collect Pippa. This 20 week old whirlwind bundle of fluff came hurtling out to greet me. She has not stopped running since.

Here is her Report card:

Subject Grade

Digging holes in the garden A
Finding tissues and shredding them A*
Returning Tennis Ball C
Hiding chews down the sofa A*
Remembering where she has hidden chews D
Not Jumping Up F
Getting on with other dogs A
Sleeping through the night A*
Chasing cats out of her garden A
Destroying toys (apart from Kongs) A
Cuddling up on the sofa with her owner A*

Teacher's report:

Pippa is a joy to have around. She has loads of friends and loves to chase them when she is out on her walks. She enjoys water play but hasn't learnt how to swim yet. She is a bit shy with strangers.

Pippa needs to improve on her tendency to jump up when she meets people as not everyone likes to be covered in muddy paw prints.

Extra curricular activities: Pippa is a member of several groups including dog agility and walking. She dropped out of obedience class.

Award: 3rd place in dog with the waggiest tail at Village Fete.

Absence: Pippa missed several days of walking due to removal of a grass seed from her front left paw.

She celebrated her first birthday with a party on the beach with her best friend Poppy

Pippa is looking forward to lots more playing, walking, eating and adventures in her 2nd year.

A big thank you to all at CAESSR who gave her the chance to become such a delightful spaniel.

Dear Di and Ian,

We just want to let you and Reuben's previous family know just how much we love him.

He is a friendly, obedient, cuddly boy, everyone he meets loves him [except our cat who keeps a very low profile]. He loves our old Springer Dee Dee and his best friend a one year old Cocker belonging to our daughter and her fiancé.

He runs with Richard in the mornings and is happy to watch sport on TV with him until late as long as he has had his evening stroll.

He has been on a walking week end in Wales clocking up a good 13 miles a day followed by sausages in the pub. He loves car or camper van journeys and has travelled all over France with us.

He is great with our little grandsons as he is with everyone and other dogs.

I only discovered Guestbook today having looked at your site at least three times a week.

Thank you

Hi John

It's more than a year since we got Stella from you.

Just wanted to let you know she is getting on fine with her pal Lossie. The two of them are enjoying long walks every day, a steady routine and lots of love.

Stella is a little treasure and much better behaved than Lossie but we love them both just the same.

Best regards

Good evening Di, Ian, John and Pat,

Ollie is doing very well although he has only been with us since May it feels like he has been with us forever.

He is off the lead more than on these days and comes back to the whistle (with the help of the odd treat!).

We have had our first holiday in our motor home 2 weeks ago, he was swimming every day, going for extended walks (10 miles plus), he was wagging his tail so much with excitement he fell over as he has his mum and dad 24/7 for 9 days solid.

He is a beautiful boy, everyone we meet comments on how hansom he is plus how laid back (the walks for 2 plus hours every day help with that) and loving he is.

Harry and Ollie are great friends and keep each other company. He loves his cuddles in front of the telly and has toys all over the house.

Once again thank you for pairing our family with Ollie, we have been blessed.

Hello All

Ted here, just reporting in. Really getting to grips with this farm life now. Also getting really good at the travelling to horse shows in the truck. This spring we spent a whole week away in Wales with the jumping horses. Mum and Richard were quite busy in the day, but in the evening Jake Jess and I took them for a long walk. The show ground is huge and is next door to a castle. Lots of lovely smells and lots of rabbits.

I have to say I have a new passion for gardening. Mum lets me have my very own tub to do. I am currently digging it out, not sure what to plant yet so sometimes I sit in it for a bit, or I might have a quick nap.

I hope everything is ok at CAESSR and you can keep helping all of us in need. Lots of licks to all the people who helped me, not forgetting the kind ladies who brought me from Lincolnshire.

Lots of bouncy kisses

Hello Pat

Thank you for both your email/'phone message of yesterday; sorry not to have been in touch with you before now to give you an update on Izzy-belle.

What can I say about a year with Izzy! She has settled in really, really well. She is much loved and has made such an impact on the lives of both myself and my partner, who I hasten to add she adores. He is her walking buddy - not on a haltie, which we had to give up on but on a body hardness which she appears to prefer - I call it her bra! She still pulls somewhat but is improving.

We had a couple of minor health glitches with her within the first month of ownership - nothing too drastic, but she managed to get a grass seed (the first one, a rye grass seed - nasty things) embedded into her ears which required two visits to her vet and being anaesthetised on both occasions. It was a bit of a learning curve for us, so now she is not walked in a nearby water meadow where there is long grass during the summer months and is now covered by pet health insurance.

We live next door to 5 cats which do not often stray into the garden. She appears to have a "thing" about cats, although I believe she lived with one. Also, birds feeding from the bird table can get her racing out into the garden voicing her displeasure. She likes the fish in our pond and the water even better, although obviously there is always fresh water in the kitchen for her to drink. Our garden is fairly large (by today's standards) and Izzy likes nothing better than to spend time just mooching up and down the pathways and through the flower beds or just laying on the grass in the sunshine, snoozing away.

She is regularly groomed every 5 weeks as her coat seems to grow very quickly and on a recent visit to the vet for her yearly booster inoculation she was given a clean bill of health and passed with flying colours.

Izzy is certainly a lady with "attitude" and if she does not like a dog (or indeed a human) when out on her daily walks she lets it be known. But she has made many new friends (both canine and human) who she enjoys meeting up with.

Please let her previous owners know she is very well, much loved and has enriched our lives.

I cannot attach a photo at this time, but will endeavour to get this sorted and send one on.

Kindest regard and thank you.
