Hi everyone

Betsy at the pubIt’s 6 weeks today since we collected Betsy from CAESSR and she’s settled very well with us. We’ve bonded so well we took the plunge and let her off the lead yesterday. We shouldn’t have worried at all! She runs about with utter joy but keep us in her sights all the time, so far anyway!

We’ve also visited 2 walled gardens open to the public and she made us so proud of her. She makes such a fuss of people if they approach her and, although uncertain of other dogs when she’s on the lead, she interacts perfectly when free. She also behaved herself impeccably both times we visited pub gardens for a beer! Photo attached of yet another person making a fuss of her.

She was very ball mad for the first few days but we noticed that she was leaving it alone for longer periods as the days went by. Now she’s happy for us to take it away after a game and she settles down for a nap.

We didn’t realise just how miserable we were until Betsy put the grins right back on our faces!!! Thank you very much for giving us the chance to welcome such a wonderful addition into our lives.

Warm regards to you all.

Dear Di,

We can hardly believe Cindy has been here 3 months;  I took her this morning for her vaccination & check-up and her weight is now 12.75Kg – just about right looking at her!

She has been making steady progress, some situations are new to her – like eating out where we are using aids to help her but after initial whining this is now far less.    We have taken her away for a short visit to see some family on the Isle of Wight and that meant a stay in an hotel – she did very well.

She was very good with the vet today which makes me so pleased for her – clearly not so concerned about the environment (we have been from time to time, just to be weighed and give her familiarity).

Her report at class this week was “a big improvement” – after a couple of weeks when there was no class due to the heat, it is very encouraging.  She certainly plays now and really enjoys her walks, where safe off lead, and chasing the ball etc.

Please (if appropriate) let her first family know how happy she seems – she is an absolute delight,  gives us enormous pleasure and is a lovely companion.  Her early instruction is clearly in her mind – she sits so nicely to have her paws wiped when we have wet days.

Best wishes to all on the CAESSR team,

Regards,

Julia

Dear Ian,

BrookeHope you are really well. I've been meaning to write for some time to share news of Brooke's progress. He joined our family in mid-January and it's very exciting to see how much he's changed and relaxed in these last 6 months.

He was anxious & timid when he arrived and while he's still nervous of strangers, he's a big gorgeous goofball with us. We've worked on lead and whistle training. Our daily walks have been off lead for about 2 months now, in the surrounding fields. His progress has been remarkable. We do have a tracker which has been a godsend, helping us have the confidence to continue his off-lead training. Every week we see little changes--he is relaxing all the time. He loves his cuddles, a ball is his constant companion and when he gets excited, he always seeks out a shoe or slipper! He and our other spaniel, Cali, have been great together since day one. She is very tolerant of his exuberant nature and I think she gives him confidence. He's a big spaniel, and when he wags his tail, his entire body wiggles!

THANK YOU so very much to everyone a CAESSR for pairing us with Brooke.

Very warmest wishes
Jen

Hello Di, John, Ian & Mandy

Betsy 2Betsy 3We cannot thank you enough for the privilege of adopting Betsy. She's a real credit to her previous owners and we're very proud to have such a well behaved doggie in our home. She slept all night from the get go and when we get up in the night she looks at us and wags her tail. She asks to go out if she needs the garden, she walks perfectly on the lead, she's good when we meet other dogs and she's already had a play date in a friend's garden with her 4 yr old lab. To top it off, she's so affectionate and comes for a snuggle whenever she feels she needs reassurance. She's allowed on the sofa and bed but only stays there if we are with her. We're waiting for her to do something wrong to be honest!!!! Have attached some photos taken over the first few days, it's only been a week and it feels like forever already.

Once again, thank you so very much, Betsy has made our house a home again. Will be in touch again as she progresses, we're sure there's much more of her to come!

Kind regards

Liz, Steve & Betsy xx

Hi all,

Cooper & MegIt's been just over a week and it feels like Cooper has always been with us.

He's working hard on his walking to heal and his recall. So far this week he's been running across Bromyard Downs, playing with the in laws springer , visited the local pub and today he met his Nanny Brown who is 82 and unfortunately house bound. He was a very good boy once he had settled . No growling from Meg, I think she's warming to him.

Hi Di & Ian,

We hope you are both well and enjoying the lovely weather we have had recently.

DarcieDarcie 2We thought we would give you an update on how Darcie is getting on. It took only 5 days for Darcie and Daisy (our cat) to become best friends, they are always greeting each other with Daisy rubbing her face on Darcie and Darcie replying with a crafty lick on Daisy’s face!

Darcie has been introduced to many friendly dogs in our area and is proving a hit with both them and their owners. She is very confident wherever we take her and is an absolute joy to have. She loves exploring all the places we go and travels extremely well in the car.

Attached are some recent pictures of her enjoying her walks and time in her garden. (These are spread over 2 emails).

We can’t thank you enough for considering us as Darcie’s new owners and she has now made our house into a home again.

Best wishes from,

Jill & Pat
