Hi Ian,

J-Bear, formally Jay has been with us for six months and the transformation is unbelievable. He's obviously still a maniac because he's a working cocker spaniel but he's such a loving boy now who wants cuddles all the time.

He is doing exceptionally well at Cosford Dog Training and the renown trainer thinks he's an excellent boy and will be able to compete in tracking competitions. He passed his puppy class with flying colours and is going to get all the way to gold (paws crossed).

He loves his fur brothers and sisters and is always good when meeting new fur friends, cat or dog. He's gained some muscle from eating good food and doing lots of running which the dog trainer says now gives him the perfect physique.

We tell everyone about CAESSR and the good work you do and in a few years of so we may return for another fur baby.

Kind Regards

Helen & Liam

Hi Di, Ian & John

Another year of enjoying Lucy's antics, we have been out and about in our caravan again. We went to Northumberland last August, the beaches are wonderful a real dog’s paradise, just long runs of soft sand and a dip in the sea or pool. Lucy was shattered at the end of the day.

In September, we went camping at Delamere Forest, with trips to North Wales, Chester and around Cheshire, then onto Buxton in the Peak District Lucy loves chasing rabbits around the camp site but they are far to fast for her. In October a few days in Stratford upon Avon and north Cotswolds.

So far this year Lucy has been exploring around Hereford, Teversal Nr Sherwood Forest, Norfolk & Suffolk coast near Lowestoft, South Dorset coast and around Salisbury, and will be going back to Cambridgeshire later. Lucy likes to lay down at the door of the caravan or awning and just watch the world go by, but will sit up if she sees another dog especially another Spaniel, then will want to go and play.

Lucy has just had her annual vaccinations and check-up at the vets, who said she is generally in good health with no problems to worry about.

Lucy won't play with a ball not even put one in her mouth, but will run after a thrown apple from a tree in our local park, but she won't bring it back to us, her attitude is, "that's a job for a retriever". She has lots of teddies, and brings one to us when it's time for breakfast or dinner or when she needs to go out. She will carry a teddy around in her mouth when we take her out until she finds something more interesting to sniff. The teddy is then discarded and we have to carry it.

Lots of people and other dog owners around the village know Lucy and always give her a fuss or let their dogs play with her, many say how easy going and friendly she is.

Best Regards

Andy, Janis & Lucy

Hi John & Ian,

We have just realised that it’s 3 years today since I drove to Stoke.

We saw a totally mad, scrawny, tennis ball destroying dog which hadn’t been trained to walk on a lead, put him in the car and drove home.

Only three years? feels like forever!

His exuberance for life wins everyone over, he still has to charge through any door which is closed.

He’s just so, Danny!

Thank you so much!

He turned my life round and is absolutely one of the family!

Then   Now

Best regards

John

Hi CAESSR,

This is Kell - the Springer we had from you back in 2010. I was looking for a working Cocker to live with my existing one, however when I described to Di what sort of peronality I was looking for, she urged me to consider this dog - the rest is obviously history!

He had / has his problems - underweight, borderline Cushings syndrome, terrified of livestock, was food aggressive -. and still is. These are all things that with some thought and time can be managed or worked around and we did just that. Kell is getting an old man now 12 - 13 yrs, but we have had the best 6yrs together - once educated he loved to work and made an excellent gundog, he always appreciates human company his warm bed and good food. He is now my 'gardening dog', pottering around behind me always - and is also now the PAT dog at my fathers nursing home where he drinks tea and has the odd biscuit with the residents!

Thanks to CAESSR and especially Di for making this all possible - please don't ever loose your vision of matching the right person to the right dog, even if - as in our case - they come to you for something totally different !!! and working through or around the dogs problems offers so many rewards in itself.

Best Wishes to you all,

Lyn, Andy and Kell

Good morning John.

Thank you for all your help and advice. Beau has morphed into Jolly which was the name of our biggest and best spaniel - he seemed to respond to it instantly and it really suits him. He is mad as a hatter and obviously has some problems (we are one chicken down so far - our fault not his), and was half way up a sycamore after a squirrel this morning!! However he is quite lovely and loving and has settled in the house very well. He lets me get all the burrs out of his coat with no problem and has been swimming in the canal with Ebor twice. Very early days but doing well so far.

We will keep in touch and I will confirm when we make another payment.

Again thanks to you all for your help.

Regards

Jill

Hi Di, John & Ian

We adopted Comet a couple of weeks ago.

He has settled in a treat. Such a loving boy. He is very strong on the lead but training has commenced. He has fitted in well with our other springer Rudi.

He doesn't like sleep much! We had hidden the toys and only get them out as treat, he is much calmer this way.

Hi Di,

Just to update you on Qhuinn , we took to a country park near Leek on Saturday and he loved it. Last night he wanted to sleep between us both. Qhuinn is just so affectionate .

Today we took him to the Goyt valley near Buxton and his fitness was very good as he went swimming. Also, his recall was brilliant. He was great with people and other dogs also.

He is eating very well and can't wait to get home !

Please let the previous owner know how well he has been and how pleased we are with him. Qhuinn will have a really happy contented life with us.

Thank you for all the work you all do Di

Regards Noel , Bernie and Qhuinn

Hiya all at CAESSR!!

On Friday it will be two whole years since we adopted our wonderful Boy - Basil!! He celebrated his twelfth Birthday last week! Basil thinks it was his fourth birthday 'cos he says that that's how young he feels ( and acts I must add ! )

I have to admit that he seems to have been with us forever - he fitted in from day one and what an easy-going, kind-natured and utterly wonderfully loyal, faithful companion he is!! I probably sound as if I'm over-doing the complements as far as Basil is concerned, but how else can one describe perfection??

Seriously - we love him to bits & ( hopefully ) attach a picture of him tackling a bone in the garden!

Thank you so much for matching Basil to us!!!!

Hilary & Mike
