Hi all at CAESSR
Having returned from our visit to chez nous on Jamie's first trip there, I am writing to say how good he was on the ferry left in the car for 5 1/2 hours (we did check on him regularly but really there was no need, he slept all the way, always a good traveller wherever we go). He enjoyed meeting his French animal and human neighbours without any problems and didn't seem bothered about the poultry being so close by as they are adjacent to our fence. He loved the countryside walking and talking with whoever we met.

The only problem we had with him is his sleeping habits. He doesn't settle for long periods of time and wakes numerous times a night. Luckily my husband is an early riser but we have noticed that recently he is sleeping longer and Joseph has woken Jamie up in the morning!
He has a lovely character, wanting attention a lot but that's understandable and very loving, always giving a present when we greet him, sometimes a sock from the washing machine (I don't know how he opens it) but mostly his ball or ropey twisty things. We have not seen any aggression in him when meeting lighter coloured dogs but its early days. Just to say we are pleased with him, it's only been 2 months.
Hope you continue with your good work rehoming these dogs who need the right home and family.

Hi Di
Just to let you know that Ruby is settling in VERY well into the family.
The journey home was long so we woke her up (!!) to take her for a walk half way. She was nervous and unsettled at first, happy eating well but unsettled all the same. This quickly changed when she got into the routine of going out for walks everyday in the countryside - she loves the forests and lakes here meets lots of other dogs and swans, ducks, geese and squirrels.
The kids love her and she likes to play and curl up with them. She sleeps at the end of the bed usually totally tired out - we do not hear from her until the morning. She is no longer nervous and unsure!! What a wonderful dog. She is bouncy and full of life and that is what we like about her so much. We will keep you informed ...
regards

Hi John
Just a quick note to let you know how Nikki is getting on.
It's just over a year since we adopted Nikki (was Molly) we are very happy to say, she is an amazing, wonderful dog who has changed our lives for the better. We still can't believe how lucky we are to have her in our lives.
We are currently back in the UK on holiday and Nikki seems to be enjoying herself....

Hi Caessr!
Archie here, just checking in to let you know how I am! I've been in my new home for 18 months now and I've just turned three. Life is fantastic - I am spoiled rotten and am the owner of two adoring humans and Kat (she thinks she's in charge, but I am really)!

This summer was great! Do you like the picture of me surfing?! I adore water and am a fantastic swimmer. In fact, my mom says I have the knack of sniffing out any bit of water around and she's not quite sure how I manage to come home muddy and soaking wet even on the driest of days! It's a pity there isn't a Dog Olympics, as I reckon I could win gold! I took my mom and dad camping last month and we had a great time. Being outdoors is sooooo exciting - all those smells driving me wild! I spent my days in and out of the estuary, charging across the sandy beaches and making new friends. Me and Dave, the Bassett Hound, loved playing rough on the beach.

In the evenings we lolled around the campfire (mmmmmmm, sausages) and occasionally went to the pub. Oh, by the way, the pint wasn't mine! I quickly learnt that if I lay with my head on the edge of the bench, I could thrust my head into the hands of passers by for a bit of extra fuss. How clever am I?!
As my mom and dad work with the cadets, I get to go and spend some of my weekends looking after them. I am in charge of ball games, and last weekend taught them to play rounders. I have also learnt to march alongside the cadet band when they practice - just to check they're doing it right.
Mom takes me into her school sometimes too, where I get plenty of cuddles. Everyone thinks I am adorable (which is completely true of course) and I know just how to convince them that I need more treats!
I am one very lucky spaniel, and it's thanks to Caessr that I have the busy, exciting life full of love that I do. Thank you - who knows where I would be without you!
With love and sloppy kisses,
Archie x (11-09-2013)
Hi John
Just to let you know how extremely happy I am with Billy.
Six weeks has flown by, he has a new friend in Hester ( sleeping next to each other from the very first night).
Recall is very good. He has settled in well and still loves his tennis ball!
Shall keep you updated from time to time
Thanks for letting him choose us
Peace and love

Dear Di and Ian
I trust you're both keeping well and I've no doubt busy with so many spaniels awaiting their forever home.
We wanted to update you on our Blue Roan cocker spaniel whom we adopted two weeks ago. Mia was very good on the journey back to West Sussex and slept most of the way. She's settled in very quickly and we were amazed that we didn't hear a whimper on her first night with us. We've a stairgate preventing her from going upstairs but she has the freedom of the rest of the house.
Her character is beginning to shine through and she's a sweet natured little girl. Mia enjoys her runs in the fields, close to our home, and has made lots of new canine friends, male and female. When she's off the lead she responds to her name, except when she's playing with her new friends!! It's been a year since we lost our previous Blue Roan cocker spaniel, Monty, but Mia has brought us happiness in such a short space of time and we're so glad she's part of our family now.
Once I've downloaded some photos of Mia onto the computer I'll send you some.
With all good wishes and thanks

Hi John
Just thought I would let you know that Mackie is doing fine. I have attached a picture of him having a 'hard day in the office' with me!
We walk around 50 miles a week and he's been brilliant, although I am still struggling to get him sleeping through the night, but I am making progress.
He is definitely the best thing to happen to me in a long time and I think I need him as much as he needs me, so we go everywhere and do everything together.
Thank you for allowing me to take him in
Kind regards

Hi Both,
Well we have had Ben a whole month and what can I say?.............
He is a very well behaved and placid dog, which everybody loves, Our Granddaughters think the world of him and the Grandsons enjoy kicking the football with him.
We have just been for his first walk of the day which is about 1.5 miles and took the bull by the horns and allowed him off the lead, with the help of fresh chicken breast as a reward he was fantastic at coming back and walking by our side.
Maybe it was fate that bought us together but he is definitely the missing piece to our family.
I will send some more photos as and when I get the chance, but once again thank you for matching us with such a lovely dog.
Yours
Sue and Paul (01-09-2013)
Hi
Remember Lucy. It has taken sometime to get her to trust us but as you can see she is well at home now and just had her first grooming. Dosn’t she look pretty.
She lost her companion Bonnie in Feb to cancer but she has adapted well.
Kind Regards
Alan (01-09-2013)
