Hi Ian and Di
We just wanted to say a massive thank you for the work you did in finding Harley his forever home and thank you to John and Valerie for updating us so quickly on how he is getting on.
Giving Harley up was one was on the most heart breaking things we have ever had to do. Both myself and my husband have shed many a tear during this process but we knew that we could no longer give Harley the life he deserved and we're so happy to see that John and Valerie definitely can. It is a massive relief to know that he has settled in well and is enjoying his new daily routine already. It was so lovely to see photos of him enjoying Christmas as we all thought of him and missed him even more on that day.
Thank you again John and Valerie. I'm sure Harley will give you years of fun and affection, he is a very special dog.
Tess and Neil (30-12-2013)
Dear John,
I hope that you had a Happy Xmas and we wish you a happy and healthy New Year.
You and the previous owners may have been wondering how Harley has settled in etc . He is such a lovely affectionate dog, and obedient too, so we have had no problems at all with him. In fact I would go so far as to say that it is as though we have always had him. He already knows our routine. I take him for a walk at about 7 a.m. for about 25 minutes when I go for a newspaper. I think it keeps their claws at a reasonable length without the trauma of cutting them if they have a regular walk on hard surfaces. Then I take him a longer walk in playing fields and woods in the afternoon.

I kept him on the lead for 2 weeks but now I let him have a run off the lead when I am well away from roads and people. He gets excited and 'forgets' to come back to me immediately if there are squirrels or seagulls about but other than that recall is very good. He sits instantly on command and I am gradually getting him used to commands on a whistle.
As you see, we feel like a whole family again and we are aware of the sadness that the previous owners have felt in having to pass him on to us. With this in mind I enclose a few pictures of Harley in his new surroundings, and in particular enjoying one of the presents passed on for him by his previous family. As you also see he continues to be very nosey and delighted in helping Valerie to open her presents.
If you think it would be nice his previous owners to see these pictures please do pass them on.
With all good wishes for the New Year,
Regards,
Valerie and John. (28-12-2013)
Hi Everyone at CAESSR
We are sorry it has taken so long to write to you. We have been meaning to write to you for ages to let you know how MOSS is doing.
He settled in from Day 1 and certainly has the run of the house. He is a very clever little boy and seems to pick up commands very quickly. It was a few weeks before I felt confident enough to let him off the lead, but with a whistle and a few treats in my pocket his training is coming on very well and his recall is very good.
We walk on average 3 or 4 miles a day and there is nothing he likes better than running across the fields and finding a doggy friend to play with. He loves other dogs, but is still a little timid where people are concerned. (The only problem I have is that walks take ages as so many people stop me to tell me how handsome he is and how lucky we are to have him.)

At the end of August we took him with us to Chatsworth Country Fair where we camped with about 80 Scouts on a fund raising weekend. He was fussed and spoilt by everyone and became Camp Mascot. Everyone wants him back in 2014. We have also taken him to the seaside for the day and he loved running on the beach, but is a little scared of water. He only seems to like getting his feet wet!!!!!
We can’t express how happy we are with our little boy and want to thank you all for giving us the wonderful opportunity of having him. He has certainly made our home complete. So much so that my sister and brother-in-law (who have fallen in love with him and spoil him rotten) are hoping to adopt from yourselves so that MOSS can have a cousin to play with at weekends and camping holidays.
All the best to you all.
Best Regards

Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas.
Lucy (adopted 07-05-2013) is doing so well we love her to bits, it is as if we have had her all of her life.
She loves going on holiday in our caravan and travels really well in the back seat of the car, her last holiday was in the lake district on the west coast nr Selafield.
Lucy is going to kennel club good citizen obedience classes, she has bronze and silver and is working to gold award.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2014

Hi Everyone.
Brandy here.
As you can see I'm hiding and hoping I can catch a glimpse of Santa tonight. I know he'll be here as I've been SUCH a good boy. I passed my check-ups for three months now. I am mostly clean in the house as well.
When people offer me treats I sit politely. I am VERY popular with the Ladies and small children. What do you think Santa will bring me ?....
Love and Nose Kisses,
Brandy..x00xx0.........Enjoy the Holidays (24-12-2013)

Hi
Neville is settling in very well & is already a much loved member of the family by all. He loves his walks over the field & river & boy can he run when fetching ball......... There has been & continues to be an occasional accidents in the home even when the rear door has been open......... he rarely goes when on his walks & continually squats to the point of cowering when we open the back door ...... we have tried ignoring him, encouragement , rewarding when has been outside but have not chastised him ......... it does seem to be a case of 2 steps forward & 1 back. We would welcome any suggestions you may have
Our daughters are particularly fond of Neville .. Please see attached pic of Neville & our youngest daughter Coco
Kind Regards

Dear Di and John,
Hope you both have a good Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
I thought I would just update you on Izzy (was Lexi ) She is doing really well and I couldn't have asked for a better dog for me it just must have been fate that we where there just after she arrived as I know she wasn't with you very long. Here are some photos of her sitting on the sofa with her favourite toy.

She has now been spayed and all has healed well although we had fun keeping her quiet for the first few days!! We have started on her recall training and we are currently seeing a gun dog trainer to help us with this as she can get a little distracted of her lead, having said that she is walking very well on her lead and is the envy of a lot of other dog walkers.
Izzy is a very special and loving dog who just loves life and has fitted in here very well both Steve and I love having her around as you never know what she will be up to next. She has just learnt how to open the draw that all her toys are kept in (wondered where they kept coming from lol).
We cant wait until next spring/summer to take her camping and walking with us.
So thank you for letting us have such a great dog.
Regards

Many thanks

Hi John,
Just a quick line to inform you of how I’m getting on. I’ve finally learned the "Geordie Lingo”.
The Hall family are very loving towards me and I’m walked at least three times a day.
I’m really pleased that I’m a calendar girl.
Well I hope you and the rest of CAESSR have a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2014.
Love Brooke (21-12-2013)
P.S. Keep up the good work
"Hi all,
Here is a quick update on Jasper (formerly Goldee) who has lived with us now for a month. He is a very loving and friendly dog who seems to have grown attached to us all very quickly, which we
are thrilled with. We are all besotted with him to say the least. Our 5 year old female Cocker Jasmine is gradually accepting him more and more and they are both cohabiting very well. They both enjoy sleeping at the foot of our bed at night time :)
Jasper loves his walks and has adapted to our daily routine really well. He is still in need of a firm hand when out walking as he easily gets over excited at seeing other dogs, birds and people etc. He is now under the care of our vets and has had food allergy testing as his intestine problems are so severe. It has been discovered that he is allergic to a wide range of foods most of which are in even the best brands of dry dog food. He is now on steroids, antibiotics and antacids, plus a very strict diet and is showing signs of improvement slowly. It will take a while for him to be at optimal weight and condition but I'm sure he will get there.
Here is a picture of him being molly coddled at The Barka Lounge, where we take them to play and socialise with the other dogs.

Happy Christmas to you all
We are very pleased to let you know that Toby has settled in so well…..he is quiet and relaxed in the house; we picked up on willingness to take up residence on settee or bed if given the chance, so we now remember to close doors when we are out of a room, he can be left quite happily for several hours on his own, he is very settled in the car, and only becomes ‘manic’ when the coats go on and it is time to walk… actually walk is the wrong word for Toby… it is run…and flat out at that, non-stop. He pulls hard on the lead, and because it is necessary for him to be on a lead for the short distances from car park to woods…he is currently under training with Chris, on a GenCon lead, sausage and a ‘clicker’, and that is going well.
It is great to see a dog so happy to be ‘working’ through the woods, heather, and bushes…we might walk three miles he runs at least double that, and he has reduced weight by a few pounds…pictures attached but one only a ‘streak’
We are absolutely delighted with him, and couldn’t have wished for a better Springer and member of our family…we will keep you up to date with how he gets on.
With very best wishes and thanks for all the great work that you do

Dear John,
It was lovely to speak with you this morning.
We consider ourselves to have been most fortunate in being adopted by May . She has now been with us for three months and has settled into our routine so well. It is difficult to imagine her ever being a working dog when we see her cuddled up with Diesel, our Labrador, in his basket!! or stretched out on the sofa - she certainly is enjoying her retirement home!
May has had some health issues, particularly with her teeth, but they are now resolved as can be proven by her insatiable appetite; a recent trip to the coast proved to be great fun for her as she cutely wandered up to the fishermen and then promptly ate their sandwiches!
May and Diesel have formed an unholy alliance but She is such a lovely dog and so cute that even when she's naughty you cannot be angry with her - muddy paws on a freshly laundered white duvet cover being one, of many, examples!
Thank you again for your help in finding us such a lovely companion and please do keep up the good work at CAESSR
My very best wishes to you all for Christmas and the coming New Year.

Hi Diana, Pat, John and Ian,
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas back.
Enclosed a picture of Barney and us, Just to reassure you, we are all quite sane, and Barney is safe in our hands, contrary to the picture!!!
We were delighted Barney made it into the calendar, and onto one of the cards, thanks.
Have a happy new year.
Bill. (21-12-2013)
Hello.
This is Barney, who we collected from CAESSR about 16 months ago.
As you can see, he has settled in well! Here he is relaxing in his favourite spot after a long walk. Grinning at the camera as he often does
He is a fab and very friendly dog (he thinks he is a lap dog!!! Always wants to cuddle up to you) and we feel very privileged to have him be part of our family.
Many thanks to all at CAESSR who do fantastic work. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!
Love Barney & the Cousins family xxx (21-12-2013)
Hi John and all at CAESSR
Happy Xmas and All the Best for 2014 Finally we have gained Monty's trust and he is turning into a very loyal dog with tremendous character, although not quite to Harvey's standard who is quite a star.
Have a great Xmas break and keep up the good work

Hi John, Di and Ann,
We are sorry it's taken a while to write to you - Olly is a handful (in a good way!!). He's definitely settling in well, he has the run of the house and run is the operative word!! He's a fantastic young man, very energetic, extremely intelligent and has such a well natured personality - so many people have told me what a handsome boy is as well!
We've started working on his pulling and he is calming down fast. We've bought a whistle and will start on his recall next week. He's desperate to get off the lead but it's going to be a while before we feel comfortable and he is ready. He is already sleeping out of the crate - he's upstairs in his own bed at the end of our bed.

We are so grateful that you gave us the opportunity to give Olly a new home, he's such a nice addition to our family and he's a pleasure to be around; he really doesn't leave our side at the moment! Thank you so much! We've seen Alf a few times whilst we've been out for walks and he's a continued support to us both and we've passed on our appreciation, he's a fantastic credit to CAESSR and I'm glad you all got to meet a few weeks ago. We will be sure to keep in touch... I'm sure he will need another springer to keep him company in the future!!
Speak soon

Hi John,
Just a short note to let you know how Darwin is doing.
I have attached a photo of him with his famous hair style. He is now well known in our village, due to the fact that he likes to go to the local pub with us twice a week, Ken the landlord always has a treat ready for him, and every body always rubs his curly head. He is a proper character.
We still have a few issues, sometimes he gets a notion in his head and hides, we don’t know why and cannot pinpoint anything. We just leave him to himself for a short time and he just comes round.
He is definitely a man's dog, even though I feed him and walk him more than Graham, he goes mad when Graham comes in bringing toys and his bed and anything else he can pick up.
We love him very much and when I talk to him I know he is happy because you can see it in his eyes.
Regards
Janice (13-12-2013)
Hi Di,
Now we are in December, I thought I would send an update: Pippa is settling in well and loves going for walks.
She had her 6 month check up with the vet who told her she was fabulous. Everyone calls her the prettiest puppy in the village and she is such a character.

Pippa's best friend is Poppy, my son's Golden Retriever. There is only 2 days difference in their ages but Poppy is 3 times the size of Pippa. They both sleep well after a Pippa/Poppy puppy playdate!
I hope you like the attached photos.
Regards and best wishes
