Gone But Not Forgotten

BUSTER

Buster GBNF 2

Dear Di and John

Some very sad news. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to Buster on Saturday as he gained his angel wings. He lost all movement in his back, his legs and his bowels. He had a mass on his paw which the Vet thinks was a secondary cancer but we didn't want to put him through all the tests etc as he was already suffering, which the Vet agreed. I think we gave him the best 18 months we could and we loved him very, very much. Here’s some photos of his time with us. Thank you for letting us have that time with him.

We are devastated but have wonderful memories.

CHIP

Chip gbnf

Hi Ian

We adopted Chip (our loveable blue roan cocker spaniel) from you nearly 12 years ago.

I just wanted to let you know that sadly we had to let him go and be at peace last weekend as he had doggy dementia and his incontinence had really worsened. We had so many lovely years with him -he was always SO greedy and his food manners never improved with age!!

I don’t know whether you still have his previous owners details on file and want to let them know -but he had such a happy life with us and we will always be grateful that by giving him up his previous family gave us so many happy memories with him.

Thank you

Sue

BOSWELL

Boswell GBNF

Dear John,

Unfortunately Boswell passed away on 27th December 2024 but I just wanted to let you know what an incredible boy he was. He was ever present in our daughter’s life and helped grow her absolute adoration of dogs. Boswell was loved by so many people and he lived his last few years with spondylitis and had sporadic attacks of idiopathic vestibular disease for the last year of his life but dealt with it in his fantastic spaniel style.

Aside from being amazing he helped change my life by getting me into running. In 2017 I set a goal of running 500miles throughout the year with him and we managed it and raised £500 for CAESSR in the process.

He lived a fabulous life, playing with many of his dog pals in the park next to our house, and I just wanted to say a huge thank you to CAESSR helping us meet the most fantastic dog we could ever have imagined having and we will definitely be looking for a rescue dog as our next furry family member.

Many thanks Chris

STAR

Star GBNF

Hello Emma,

We are sad to have to advise you that we had to have Star PTS on 10th January. She had issues with vestibular disease, and despite overcoming an episode back in Oct 2023, she has had a second and the vet advised that she wouldn’t recover this time. We are very upset but we would like to share a photo of Star with you.

We adopted Star when she was 18 months old in January 2013 so we enjoyed 12 years with our lovely Star

Kindest regards

Vikki

OZZY

Ozzy GBNF

Ian, it is with great sadness that I have to advise you of the demise of my adopted English Springer Spaniel, Ozzy.

I adopted Ozzy from CaESSR around Easter 2017 and brought him to North Yorkshire where he enjoyed walks in the dales and moors. He also spent many visits to his French Spaniel cousins in the north of Scotland.

About 18 months ago he started showing symptoms of arthritis and then later other conditions developed including kidney failure and poor bladder control. Cancer was also suspected. At the end he was still enjoying short country walks and doing what spaniels do.

Best wishes and regards to all at CaESSR

Richard
